Hello,
What's the processing time for a K-1 visa? I live in Alaska and so it
seems I need to file at the BCIS in Nebraska.
All your help is greatly appreciated,
Rob

Rob,
It depends - on several things.
You know where to file your petition, so you can get an idea how Nebraska is presently doing on that type of petition from the USCIS web site. Then there's the time that will be required for the approved petition to pass throuth the National Visa Center (which can vary depending on your fiancee's country) and the time required for
- the consulate in your fiancee's country to send her the application package,
- the time required for your fiancee to respond to the application package, and
- the consulate's interview backlog.
Regards, JEff

what Jeff said and then some. providing you dont get any RFE's or other unwanted delays. But your best bet is to gauge it by the other Nebraska filers to get a general idea.
All the best

Plan on about 10 months from start to visa issued.
If you get it done sooner, then thats great also.

Hello,
Thanks for all your help. It sounds like a K-1 can take a while. I
might be easier to get married right away?
Thank you,
Rob

K3 petitions all go through Chicago/Missouri which have been being
approved in 3-3.5 months, although they seem to have ceased lately.
Then add 2-3 months to interview, depending on the country.
