Process after approval of conditional green card.
Hi,
I'm new at this google news group, please bare with me.
I was approved with conditional green card last Dec 30 2003 through my
US citizen husband. It's almost been a month and I still haven't
received any notification from INS. What are the common procedures
after getting approved? Could they have denied my approval?
Any reply to this would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by "I was approved"? What actually happened? Did you
appear at an interview? Was the interview at a consular post outside the
U.S., or at a USCIS office in the U.S.?
If in the U.S., did you get a stamp placed in your passport which says
"Processed for I-551. Temporary evidence of lawful admission ...."?

If you received a stamp in your passport (temporary evidence of PR status),
the next step will be for you to receive the actual conditional PR card.
This may take several months, and it will arrive at your address.

Re: Process after approval of conditional green card.
I am about to apply to get the conditions removed, and I got my CPR card last week. It expires on May 9th! (the last date able to apply to remove the conditions)
I have had 2 I551 stamps in my passport from the past 2 years and will probably need to do so again after May 9th.
If you take the notification letter granting you CPR status (I got mine May 9th 2002) to your local INS office, they will give you a stamp I551, which is good for a year and then you can leave and re-enter the country.

I came here as a visitor then my father petitioned me who obtained
permanent residency. The petition didn't go through because I aged
out and my father passed away. Then I got married to a US citizen, he
petitioned me. Last Dec 30 2003, I showed up at my court hearing in
San Diego and the judge approved it.
I haven't gotten any letter from INS and my passport is still not
stamped.

I don't have a notification letter from the INS. How long did your
letter arrive after you were approved?

Thank you for replying to my questions. I really appreciate it. I
have a lawyer but she doesn't help me with my questions.

Exactly what "it" did the judge approve? For that matter, what was the
court proceeding about in the first place? Was it a court proceeding the
USCIS initiated against you, such as a deportation hearing, or was it
something you initiated, such as an appeal to an earlier decision of the
USCIS? I assume that it was an immigration judge, or was it a federal
judge?
Generally, judges cannot "approve" anything. Rather, they would order
USCIS to approve something for you, if that is applicable. USCIS would
then have no choice but to eventually approve whatever the judge ordered
approved, but they may still take their sweet time doing so.
