I came through on a K1 and went straight through with no secondary at all (IIRC). However, I would bow to your superior knowledge here. As for which line to go through, I was told (on a separate occasion) that if I was with a USC, we could go through either line together and there was no need to split up. |

My experience was very briefly being asked a few biographic questions at the POE. Then being sent over to Secondary where the CBP officer was busy arguing on the phone to his girlfriend/mom "I'll call you right back/no I'll call you right back/I'LL CALL YOU RIGHT BACK!"
Then took my fingerprints, and Bob's your uncle. All done. |

Arrived at san Francisco on the 15th December and was pretty much just waved through.
They have a separate line for immigration at sfo, was a bit disappointed it was not in use that day for some reason and had to join the large visitors queue/line. |
