Rete,
I disagree. Lack of [adequate] planning on my part does not constitute an emergency (or problem) on anyone else's part.
As an aside, as one might expect of a sperm that was able to overcome the hurdles placed before it, the resulting offspring was a handful. :-)
Regards, JEff

First -- groan
Second -- its the jelly and not the fit that counts the most.

One of my nieces was a "diaphram baby". It fit perfectly. Unfortunately my
sister forgot to wear it the day in question!![Wink](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Hey Rete ![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
My fiance is in the military. He's not going to be able to come back
again for at least another 6 months. I think this is the quickest way
under the circumstances anyway. Wouldn't it really complicate
proceedings if we were to marry and THEN enter on the K1? I know this
is not what you meant, but since it popped in there..

You are confusing "lack of [adequate] planning" with "100% certainty".
Given that the latter doesn't exist the former is just as unrealistic!

Do you wear a seatbelt? Do you use virus protection (I know, I know, I
don't - still most people do)? There are hundreds if not thousands of
examples that can be given. Most people take appropriate precautions and
most people consider such precautions "adequate planning".
By your apparent definition of "adequate planning" fire companies need
not arrive at your house even if you have smoke detectors because your
inadequate planning lacked installation of a full house sprinkler
system! Police need not show up at your house because you did not
install an alarm system! Ludicrous!

You have to stay in shape. My mother started walking five miles a day
when she was 60. She's 97 now and we have no idea where she is.

Hey
So, I would need to get a passport for him/her? Is that straightforward
if it has an Australian birth certificate? Do I just prove that the
father is an AC? Do I need to prove that he is the father? I could if
I had to, but I imagine that would be tough..
What rights does a foreign-born child of a US Citizen have?
Thanks,
Deb

Maybe it was because it didn't fit perfectly! ;-)
(Seems to me you can't claim diaphram baby when the diaphram wasn't in
place. Perhaps that's the reasons for the quotes).

The foreign borne USC child has all the rights of a USC child borne on US Soil.
And yes, you will have to prove who the daddy is ;-) Do you honestly think they will just take your word for it.
Rete
BTW Daddy being an AC could mean daddy a lot of things .. one of which quickly comes to mind of this 1960 culture graduate ;-) I believe you mean USC.

You can't get married and then enter on a K1. K1 is for fiance only. The K3 is the one to obtain after you're married.
