Default Pregnancy

I have a quick question. My fiance and I just found out that she is
pregnant. I am wondering if that gives us grounds to have our K1 visa
expedited. If any of you can help on this it would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Nope, not at all. 50% of fiancees are pregnant in most embassies.

Good luck.

My Fiance and I just delivered the form, and we would like for her to
deliver here. Does that make any difference?

Eric.

Maybe. You can always ask. But remember the famous saying, "Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

You're assuming that pregnancies are planned. My daughter by my first
marriage was conceived while my first wife was on the pill. Still love
her though... The daughter that is... :-)

Hi:

Some might say its reason to question the bona fides of your intentions. Think about it.

On a serious note though -- unless there are complications, probably not. I recall getting an expedite on an I-130 a few years back where the 40 year old US petitioner was pregnant and was an "elderly prima para" in MedSpeak and she had no family here -- we put in physician's letter giving medical reasons why it would be a good idea for USC spouse to have hubby here pronto.

My personal standard for expedites is where most of the petitioners ahead of you will be willing to say "by all means, after you."

Hi!

I am Eric's fiance, the pregnant one in question (which we are happy
about - unexpected but welcome ).

We submitted the forms before I found out I was pregnant, we bought
rings and agreed to marry before also. The only reason we're not
married now and applying for a K3 (shorter processing time - we're going
through NSC) is because we didn't know that in Australia you have to
notify the Registrar 1 month and 1 day before the marriage could take
place. He had already bought his tickets and we started inquiries 1
month before he flew back home, so we were unable to marry here.

I realise that everybody else probably has a good reason for their cases
to be rushed through, and I'm willing to wait my turn (as much as it
kills me), but what will this mean for the child? Will it be able to
travel with me to the states when I go, since I can't travel in the
third trimester anyway I heard, there's no way with these waiting times
I'd get over there in time to deliver. Do I need to get a passport for
him/her? How long will this delay proceedings?

Andrew,

My 2nd child was a diaphram baby.

My wife's and my problem, not to be imposed on anyone else.

Hi:

The consulates are pretty good in processing US passport applications.

Just a thought but ....

Since you are in Australia and the US Consulate there does DCF (direct consular filing (layman's term)) of the I-130 Spousal Visa for US/OZ citizens when the USC is not a resident of Australia, why doesn't your fiancee fly back down there, you guys get married (you said you already what the license) and then he can file for you at the US Consulate. He only has to be there to file not for the interview. You could be in the states long before your second trimester is over you would enter the US as a permanent resident with no need to have anything to do with immigration issues for another 1 year and 9 months after entry when you have to apply to have conditions removed.

How does that fit with your earlier quote?

Of course you couldn't be bothered to explain how.

You see you said "lack of planning on your part does not constitute an
emergency on my part" which does not equate to accidents. Oh yeah people
plan for accidents and try to avoid them (e.g. pills, diaphrams, etc)
but accidents still happen. There was no "lack of planning". So the
"fit", at least to me, is not that obvious. Can, for example, a couple
get an expediated visa because they are pregnant if it was not a result
of "lack of planning"?

Sorry, JEff but it did not fit properly. If it had there would not have been child #2 ;-)
