Post of our K-1 (I129f) timeline and also a couple of questions
Hi Everyone,
Here is my fiancee and my timeline for the K-1 (I129F) process
Sept. 26, 2003 - sent I129F to Nebraska Service Center
October 3, 2003 - received notice they have started working on our papers
Februrary 27, 3003 - received notice that they approved what I had sent
June 3, 2003 - Interview in Amman Jordan - Visa approved but told that he
will have to wait until Visa arrives from the U.S. to pick it up at the
embassy
At this time (July 7 we are still waiting and have not heard anything)
My fiancee needs to travel back to Amman as his father is very sick and he
has children from his first marriage that he needs to see for both
emergencies and also because they are his children and he loves them so much
and hedoesn't want them to forget him!
We know he has to fill out the Advance Parole form as soon as he gets here.
But what we need to know is how often can he travel back to Amman? And for
how long can he stay? And how long is the advance trvale form good for? And
at what point does he no longer need the advance travel form?
Thanks in advance so much for any help or advice you can give us !
Wendy

Wrong. He needs to file for Advance Parole together with his Adjustment of
Status. Do be aware that some BCIS offices refuse to issue Advance Parole
at all (this applies to New York City, or at least it was the case about
three or four years ago).

As often as he likes.
> And for how long can he stay?
As long as he likes, but he must return before the A/P expires, of course.
> And how long is the advance trvale form good for?
One year.

When he has his I-551 stamp in his passport. Do be aware that at this
point, he cannot travel quite as frequently to Amman without risking his
Green Card; he must maintain a primary residence in the USA.
