Default Police certificate validity period

Good morning all

Does anyone know the validity period of the police certificate in terms of date of issue to date of medical and interview?

My police certificate was issued on the 3rd Feb so I could send my civil documents to NVC but my medical and interview are not likely to be until early to mid April. The interview could even be in May.

Many thanks

Ok great, thanks.

I was pretty sure that was the case for the interview but I wasnt sure about the medical. I read on another forum that someone was turned away at the medical and asked to obtain a more up to date police record as theirs was more than 3 months old.

It's probably best to give them a call.

Thanks

YMMV. In the past, my experience was one year for past residences and six months for current residence. Sometimes, the interviewing ConOff would be given a degree of discretion considering whether or not it was a Royal PIA to get a new one. [Many years ago, the firm I was with had clients from a country which the Department of State said was "available" when they were de facto not. We would engaged in an exercise of three failed attempts to get them.]

I suspect that the person who told them that... is an idiot, and simply didn't know any better. Had the person asked to speak to the doctor and not some bimbo receptionist, he would have found out the truth.

No need. For US immigration purposes (and, by extension, US immigration medicals), a police certificate is valid for 12 months from date of issue.
