Hi there,

My wife (the USC) lives in LA and I (the DH) live in Edinburgh, Scotland and we sent off an I-130 in December, we are going the SCF route.

We see a lot of people, on the forums, who are going the DCF route with both spouses living in the UK and we were wondering if anyone on here is (or have been) on the SCF route and are in a similar situation to us. Maybe we are looking in the wrong threads and just need a little nudge in the right direction.

Any help would be appreciated.

Like Ray, I'm curious what "SCF" is. I've never heard of it. I googled "SCF + immigration" and came up empty.

The SCF route IS Service Centre Filing.

My wife has petitioned for me to come over and live in the States. We got married in October and she filed in December.
We are just looking for people in the same boat as us (ie: USC in the USA and the UKC in the UK!) and are just curious about timelines etc as most of the stories on here involve spouses who are going the DCF route and who are living together in the UK.

You'll also find plenty of folks on here going the service center route, do a little search around on different threads.

Time frame from filing I-130 in the USA to receiving Immigrant Visa in the UK seems to be around 8 to 10 months.

There are many posting on here who have filed as you have. DCF probably is in fact a minority way, Americans don't travel well if there is a big expanse of water to cross.

Total time filing as you have start to finish normally 8 - 10 months.

We did Service Center filing, my time line is in my profile... It took us just short of 12 months because of a few unexpected hiccups along the way.

However, before we can indulge all our secrets..... we just have to know all about your love story
