I and my wife have an interview at the end of the month. We are making
plans for a trip abroad a few days after the interview. I haven't
filled the advance of parole form since our interview is comming up
soon.
I've been told that the INS usually stamps your passport during the
interview process and that allows you to travel anywhere. We want to
go ahead with travel plans but I'm not sure how accurate this
information is.
Do you know if this is true ?
Thanks

There have been people complaining that they did not get the stamp at their
interview. So it is a risk you will have to take.

There was a CIA backlog when we had our interview (May 1999) and my husband
didn't get his stamp for 7 months. I know that there off and on are
occassions that people do not get their stamp and have to wait.

As others have said, you may not get your stamp at the interview. If that
happens, you are in the same position that you are now, with respect to
travel outside the U.S. You need valid advance parole documents.
If getting advance parole takes longer than a day or two at your INS
district office, you should consider applying for them now.
