Default Our address got changed

Damn! I guess all that complaining about our apartment number leading
to confusion was heard. Our county decided to change our address to
something different. They got rid of the apartment numbers for
emergency purposes. However, we are still in the same place physically.

I guess I need to file an AR-11 and also send a letter to the local
district office and the service center processing our applications. Do
I need to include our receipt numbers on the letters to the DO and
service center?

Thanks!

Might not be a bad idea! Also, call the 800 number and inform them. Then, in about a month, I'd repeat those steps (except the AR-11).

Don't forget the I-865 change of address for the sponsor.

We never sent the change of address for our I-134. But it is only required for the I-864 since the I-134 is used for K3'ers at the time of interview, right?
Just a thought!

Also, There is something people usually forget to do when change
addresses: inform the postal service office right away. u can do that
online for $1 only. yes $1!! they will forward everything from the old
address to the new one for 1 whole year! i know "physically" u are still
at the same place, but that would help anyway.

I read about some people receiving important USCIS mail to thier old
address even though they called or sent their updated address to DO.
(ofcourse thats due to the -somehow- inefficient USCIS's database). by
doing this step, u would still get the mail if they do send something
important to your old address.

so as rene mentioned above, make sure to call again and confirm that
they do know your new address and have it in their system!

Actually, the since the county is the one initiating the change, the
letter claims that the post office has already been notified. The good
thing is that they will continue forwarding mail from our old address
to the new one for about a year.

Thanks for the tip on the I-865! I did not have that in mind.

One more question. If the service center that is processing our
application is in Missouri, should I send the I-865 form there or
should I send it to the address listed on the form instructions (TX in
this case)?

We originally sent in a I-485, I-765, and I-130 all together.

Thanks!

Apparently the USPS does not forward any mail from the USCIS. And be sure to include all your receipt numbers for I-485, I-765 etc. with your address change correspondence to the USCIS. I had to learn these the hard way. Good luck!

Really? If that's the case, then old mail will go to a non-existing
address. With our county changing our address to something completely
different, our old address will no longer be in existence. :/

In that case, be prepared for your unforwardable USCIS mail to be returned to sender. That could create quite a problem. Make sure you follow up on the address change for sure, even if you repeat each step 3 times, just in case.

This is not always true... I have had USCIS mail forwarded, including the Welcome Letter and Green Card. The Social Security mail was also forwarded.

But as ever, it is best to not *count* on that.
