Order of processing I485/I140/I131/I765
Hey guys,
Finally received my receipt notice for my I-485, I-131 and I-765. I-140 receipt notice is with the lawyer.
So i have a question. Which order will these be processed in? I am assuming:
1) I-140 will need to be approved first as this is the basis for everything.
2) Then they will need to approve the I-765
3) Then they will need to approve the I-131 (as i think this is an annotation added to the I-765)
4) Then... Many month later... They will (hopefully) approve my I-485
Also - for Biomatrics. Does that need to be done twice? Once for the I-765 and then again for the I-485?

Nowadays the I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (AP) come together combined into one card. Usually about a 60 - 90 day time frame.

Processed in parallel.
The I-140 will need to be approved before the I-485 can be approved, if only by seconds.
The I-131 and the I-765 can be processed indepently of each other and independently of the I-140 and I-485.

Processing time depends on which service center has your case. For some reason Nebraska seems to be more efficient than Texas lately.
Personally, I didn't have any biometrics done for my EAD; it was just issued with "fingerprint not available" on it.
Also - for Biomatrics. Does that need to be done twice? Once for the I-765 and then again for the I-485?

Got the physical Green Cards yesterday; they even have the finger print and signature of my 5 year old on it!

2/3) They are now usually approved on the same day.
4) My I-140 was approved 2 weeks before the I-485. I have heard of same-day approval of both 140 and 485.

Thanks for the input guys!
So what I am hearing is that I-140 and I-131 are approved at pretty much the same time. then later, I-140 and soon after I-485.
They are all filed at the Texas service center which is good and bad. Good because they seem to be processing everything other than the I-485 faster than Nebrasska, bad because the a slower with the I-485.
Having said that, there is another website which I use where you can track people's petitions for various immigration benefits and Texas seems to be approving them at about the 60 day mark... Fingeres crossed!

No, the forms are not filed at the Texas Service Center. For normal processing the forms are filed at the Dallas Lockbox, where the check(s) is deposited and the submission is given a cursory review to determine if it's complete. The lockbox will then send the submission to the appropriate Service Center.
For premium processing the forms are filed directly with a Service Center, which may be the TSC or it may be the NSC.
