Open Letter to Senator John McCain & Congressman Jeff Flake
Senator John McCain Congressman Jeff Flake
Dear Senator McCain and Congressman Flake:
As I had informed you, we filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court,
District of Arizona against the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service
(INS), INS Supervisor Geri Couchman, ex-INS Inspector, Dorothy Anaya, an ex-convict.
We have filed this lawsuit because our valid green cards never arrived.
Dorothy Anaya, former INS Inspector was sent to Federal Prison in Pleasanton,
California on 19 counts of bribery.
She now works with the INS in Las Vegas Nevada.
The second INS agent, Geri Couchman is avoiding our summons, and doing so with the
help of the INS. Our process server cannot gain access to the INS offices in
Phoenix, and has now been told by an INS guard that Ms. Couchman will be "away"
until April 17, 2002.
I have located what may be the residence of
Ms. Couchman, and will attempt to verify it myself. It is unfortunate that a private
citizen is forced to rely on vigilante tactics because the INS, a Federal Agency,
is protecting one of their agents from service of process.
I had contacted Congressman Jeff Flake on this matter, as he had appeared on ABC
Television News immediately after our interview to use our case as an example of what
was wrong with the INS.
Congressman Flake informed us, however, that he could not help us since we are not in
his Congressional district, and forwarded our request to Congressman John Shadegg.
Congressman Shadegg has not contacted us, nor have our efforts to contact him or his
staff been successful.
Today, only the Enrons have access to our institutions of government.
Committees, rhetoric, and television appearances by our elected officials are not the
solution to the problem. These self-serving acts, seeking benefit from the adversity
of others, are committed by those same public servants who have ignored the problem
and, therefore, continue to be its major cause.
Johnny Williams, the INS Western Regional Director, who has been "re-assigned" for
giving visas to terrorists Mohamed Atta and Marwan Al-Shehhi, shares the blame for
the terrorist attacks of 9/11, as do those elected officials who fostered this
tragedy by their decades-long negligent disregard of a corrupt organization.
There is no excuse.
