Default one week in Savannah, GA

Hi everyone I have been living here in Savannah, GA for about a week now having entered with a CR1 visa. Is there anyone else on this forum living around here?
I know plenty of people through my wife and having visited here for the past 3 years, also through playing tennis.
I am waiting for my social security number (after visiting the office) which should be available in a few days and... as I understand on pain of death I won't be sharing it with anyone but government officials ..more or less ;-)

I am trying to get another expat to sign my uk voting from abroad forms but am unsure if it will be processed in time for the election.

BTW I filled in the form on the UK government Locate website, https://www.locate.fco.gov.uk/locateportal/ has anyone else used this?

be good to me now everyone I don't bite

Welcome to BE, hope you are enjoying GA, how's the weather? Cindy is the only one I know on here (I think) that is in GA. We will be in Charleston in June, but I guess that doesn't help you much

Melly's here in GA, but up in Hotlanta, which is a WHOLE different world than Slovannah,

There ARE some Charlestonians on here, but don't think they are regular posters.

Oh ok, I didn't know Melly was there, yeah I guess Atl is a little different

Mallory is in Charleston I think, at least I know she is in SC, a couple of others too, but not very vocal

Rincewind was out there, but he's not appeared on BE in quite a while and I think they moved out to Texas for work.

As for voting, much better off getting a UK proxy voter set up instead of a foreign vote, it most likely won't make it in time, not so much the registering, just them sending out the ballot and you getting it back in time to count.

sorry everyone.. I didn't subscribe to my own thread and hence didn't see the replies.
I rang the social security office and although they said my social security number should be available after 10 days by now, it isn't. Without it I cannot do much ...except join the USTA (tennis) !!!
