Default Ohio N-400 interview

I had my N-400 interview in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday, in the Leveque
Tower. (I first submitted the application in October 2002 IIRC.) It
went fine - remarkably easily, and even the test was easy - the
hardest questions were who helped the Pilgrims, and who wrote the Star
Spangled Banner! And here I was ready to give names and dates and
historical context and contrasts; I thought the nice INS guy was just
warming up and the test was already over. Apparently, the expectation
is that the oath ceremony will be scheduled for March; security
background checks aren't yet finished.

Congrats! looks like things are moving in Ohio after all. This info makes me wonder is Sam2000 for real. He claimed he applied in July and still did not get an interview from Columbus.

Hi Lisa...I am now in India enjoying my vacation and have access to internet. The dialup is pretty fast.

All have a happy holidays

He might as well be - it is only a couple months off. There have been posts on this BBS about poster's friends applying at the same time but being processed months ahead.

Have a good time Sundar! What do indians do for New Years?

You could be right. Indians do same things like americans for the new year. In the olden days, we used to celebrate only new year according to traditional calendar. For example, it is April 15 for tamilians (I am a tamilian) and it is a different date for people from other states. But the western influence we have started celebrating New Year like other parts of the world.

I am having fun here except have not still gotten over jet lag. Hopefully, it should be back in rythm by end of today.

Take care

WoW,

Mark you must be lucky, cause I also leave in Columbus OH, and have
applied July 2002, and have still not heard anything.

Also according to this website
https://egov.immigration.gov/graphic...sp?textFlag=N#

Columbus is at 30-mar-2002.

Can you please provide more details of your interview, like timeline,
time lenght of interview, doc requirements, tax papers etc.

Thanks
Neemo

I think Mark must have sumitted his application in Oct 2001( Not Oct 2002)....as BCIS Columbus claims it is processing Aug/Sep 2001. So...they must started doing Oct 2001.

No: I entered the US on a CR-1 at the start of 2000, and would have
needed to be a PR for three years minus ninety days or whatever it is
to submit the N-400 application on the basis of marriage to a USC. Of
course, it went to the Nebraska Service Center.

A letter from my employer may have gone to a local congressman asking
for the application to be expedited, though. My boss is out of town so
I can't easily ask if that happened. I'd forgotten that possibility.
Interesting. When would my interview have been expected to have been,
then, on average?

Yes...usually when a clear reason is there for expediting the application they do that. Also, if the fingerprint is going to be expired the service center tries to expedite the application....
to avoid second finger print.
As far as I know they are claiming they are doing Aug/Sep 2001
as normal processing for the past 4 months. But I was told by few applicants that some of the friends who applied in Oct 2001 have taken oath in Oct 2002.
