NYC??
Hi, we are hoping to move to Brooklyn/Williamsburg very soon. I am English , myhusband USC and our 5 year old daughter has dual citizenship. I have my CR1 visa and we are flying out on Sunday!! We are staying in CT with my inlaws first but want to get somewhere to live and get my daughter settled in school asap. We are currently applying for jobs, but really need to focus on an area. We are currently applying in NYC, New Haven, Hartford, Waterbury. We want to be close to NYC, but somewhere affordable and decent for our daughter to go to school. We also want to live somewhere we can walk/cycle about, and is lively..we still want to go out to gigs etc!!!
Any ideas on locations in the NYC area which may fit the bill??

If you want to live in Brooklyn like you had mentioned. Park Slope and Carrol Gardens are nice areas to raise a family. I would check them out.
