NVC Confusion - Translations???

While I keep redailing the NVC number to get an answer to this question, I thought someone on here might know...
I received the DS-230 packet for the Immigrant Visa (CR1) for my wife (as I am the USC agent). My question is regarding translations:
In the packet they request a few original documents (birth cert., marriage cert., etc.) and they explain that translations are only needed if the documents are not in English or in the language of the country where the visa is being applied (in my case, Arabic).
I wanted to call NVC to confirm this; does anyone know or have any experience with this? Is it OK to send the documents in Arabic with no translations? Or am I reading this wrong?
As of today I don't have any translations, and it would delay our process a bit if I ask my wife to translate the documents before sending them.
Any help would be appreciated.

I finally got through; basically translations are needed for Arabic documents, this is because there are "very few people" at the NVC that can understand the language.
So it seems to be a consulate by consulate basis. Hope the info helps someone.
