Hi there,
Yes, I've noticed that davehollis looks pretty quiet right now. I don't know if this is your idea of recent, but we got approved on 11/26 (1st NOA of 5/29) at the 181 day mark. Waiting for Mr. Pink to receive packet three now although we have cleared NVC and are at London.

Good luck!

Yeah we are pretty recent, we were in the NSC system for 144 days.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunatly (or fortunatly !) I am looking for a more recent approval than 11/26. I am due to be approved whenever they reach August 14th. Last I heard from ww.aila.org on december 1st they were on July 15th....so expecting approval soon !

However I do have another question you may be able to help me with. In my job + apartment I have to give 3 months + notice to leave (long I know but that is Switzerland for you). I am keen to hand in my notice before xmas and so would finish up at the end of March. Assuming I get my NOA2 before xmas do you think that should be plenty of time to get my visa issued...3 months ?.

I know ideally I should wait until Visa is in hand but i really dont want to have to wait another three months after I have my visa having gone through NSC thus far !

NSC can drive you a little nuts.

We hope you see your approval soon.

Hi MrDub,
I've heard the immigration attorneys who post on this forum say that in terms of projecting timelines, they could give you an estimate and most likely they'd be wrong. In other words, you can identify current trends from timelines but every case is different and there are no guarantees. Personally I wouldn't give notice on the apartment yet unless you would have another place to stay if you didn't make the three month deadline. Even that gets into messy things, like having to file change of address for mail and the like.

Mr. P. and I are starting to make some wedding plans now (setting date, making guests aware of the date, booking a reception site, etc) but we didn't consider doing any of this until we had the second NOA in hand. That's just our own personal choice, and I think you're just going to have to make your own decision on this one. Good luck with what you choose to do, and let's hope you're approved soon.

My NOA1 was 7-14-03. A day before the latest published date by NSC. Still
waiting for the approval. My Senators office told me my petition was dusted
off and assigned on November 28th. Still waiting..
