Default no objection statement

Good morning everyone,
As you may know ( I had mentioned before) I am filing for a no objection waiver soon. I am gathering ideas on the letter that I need to submit to t he DOS, I have read it needs to be concise and impressive. Among all the things that I write in my letter are:
*My background
*Why I came to America
*Academic and Professional achievements while in the US
*The benefits of staying in the US
*The main reason to waive the 2yHRR

My question is... I am getting married to a US citizen. Should I mention anything about this marriage? Would it be beneficial or harmful for my case?

Thanks a lot for your input.
Also, if you have more suggestions about the letter for the DOS please let me know, your advice would be greatly appreciated.

HHallo everyone,

I am in the same situation like both of you. I also need some advice,
moreover I am running out of time.

My situation is a little bit more complex, in the since that I have
obtained some government sponsorship as part of my Fulbright grant. I
came with a very minimal sponsorship: airplane ticket and less than
$400/year health insurance (or rather benefits plan), or total of less
than $2000. I currently work on my practical training and I am
currently offered a full time job in my area plus I am planning to get
married to an American citizen. I have a lawyer working with me in
figuring from where the money for my sponsorship has come, and
eventually request an advisory opinion. The most probably route to go
for me would be the non-objection. I am not sure from what I have read
whether it will work, as government funding is involved.

Laura, I read all your other postings and I am sure you have a very
good ground for success. I am looking into gathering urgently all the
documentation, as I thought I will be able to work by May, 2005, but
it turns out I will only be allowed to work until November.
Therefore, I am looking into all possible options. I do not want to
separate from my future husband; we have been dating since about 3
years and love each other. I really think it will be shock and not
very good idea to bring him home.

Anyways, if you guys have any ideas about documentation and ground for
application in the case of government sponsorship (non-objection,
hardship, IGA, etc), please share with me. I would so very much
appreciate it.

As for a lawyer in Chicago, I have talked with Margaret Wong, who is
supposed to be one of the best in Ohio, and she has an office in
Chicago. I am working with someone else, who my company recommended;
otherwise, she would have been my first choice probably.

Good luck and keep me posted, if you come up with any ideas on my
case.

Thanks,
Milena

Dear Laura,

Why are you still having doubts about receiving the No-Objection Waiver ? I think your fiance is the person you really need to talk about the marriage thing. If there is somebody to know what would be harmful or beneficial to your case that is the person close to you. You have to sit down with your fiance and think it through. I wanted to marry my fiance even before applying for the J-1 Waiver but it was too obvious that I had to wait until I got the waiver ( it didn't take more than 3 months )....everybody I asked and talked to told me to wait.
In case you decide to marry, then be peaceful about putting that in your personal statement too, because the truth will make you free and the CIS ( INS ) won't be able to say that you hidden the truth.
