Hi!!!
I picked up my interim EAD card from the Portland service center today.... it is sadly just valid for 3 months.... just hope that MSC will be able to issue me the "right" one before this one expires (just thinking about that they are still officially stuck in November last year)!!!
At least I can go ahead in two weeks and finally apply for my SSN .... and of course look for a nice job!!!!

hey good luck to you, sadly i will go next week to pick up interim ead, on the 91st day rite? not as stated on reciept? yup and i hope i get a longer one, hehe
till than i live in lottery situation like the rest of us, how did we all get in a thing like this anyways? hehe
I dont remember in the year 1756 having visas, but than again i could be wrong,

Congrats. There isn't any consistency-my husband's "real" EAD was valid for only 4 months concurrent with the interim EAD which was valid for 8 months..................

Interim EAD nightmare is Over!!!
Finally got my interim card today. It says good for one year. I will be calling my prospective employer in Manhattan later for the update. On friday, I will try and see if I can get a SSN.
PS. The lady who turned me away the first time.. well, she probably got "re-educated" about the process after that incident, and our little talk with her supervisor. I dont think she remembers me. She asked the same questions, about AOS and the missing NOA for my I-130, but she didnt give me a hard time this time and told me to sit and wait for my name to be called. The nice older lady did my photo and fingerprinting later on and got my card in less than 5 minutes.

my hubby got his interim april 23, applied for his SS# april 27, was not in the system at that time so the SS office needed to get a paper confirmation from USCIS. got his card in the mail today. hope yours doesnt take as long.
