We now have 4, FOUR service (an oxymoron) centers and a foreign service that, given some of the circumstances I've read about in these forums, is running amok.......We have a huge bueracracy that "service's" us.

Now I see a convoluted non-sensical process whereby we have bureacrats into our "skivies" and "evaluating" our relationships.
Unfortunately common sense has little to do with this.

For most people going through the process 911 has nothing to do with the delays. Nice excuse though.

If we had gone the other way, US-UK, 4 weeks would have been ample. Taken us 2 1/2 years to get to the same point.

They do not serve you, they serve the system that has been created by your Representatives.

I have actually found all the individuals I have dealt with fine, the system is the issue.

All countries, well all western countries, check marriage validity. Even then fraud is rampant.

Welcolme on board!

Perhaps, but since they can exercise their de facto unilateral power anyway, what difference whether it really exists?

I have been through this process once before. I was married to a foreign national ...
Hmm.. not much for shopping locally, eh?

No, it services the country and, what's more, we gave them the authority to do so. We elected the officials who made the decisions on our behalf, and these are the decisions they have made. I'll also point out, as I have many times in the past, that a USC has absolutely no use for immigration services except as it pertains to some foreign national with whom they're involved. It's not the USC that is seeking the approval of USCIS and USCIS doesn't work for the foreign national. Think about it for a moment and your 54-year old brain might just implode.

I'm 54 tears old, an engineer, a veteran of two wars and a person that deals with government on a daily basis and so I apply what I know.
I didn't realize this was a pissing contest. I'm 51, a former teacher turned I.T. specialist, a veteran of racial and ethnic cleansing and, while I'm not a civil servant, my paycheck comes from the government.

So sorry if that upsets you.
I'm not the one who's ranting here!
