Hi everyone, I need help in the one letter from INS, if anyone can help,
thank you very much.
I am now in the waiting for the AOS interview, I have filed I-485 Sep 2th,
2003. Today I received a letter from INS, saying I need go there for
fingerfrint. The letter as follow:

REASON FOR APPOINTMENT:
Fingerprint Card(FD-258)
Form I -485(Application to register permanent resident of adjust statue)

BRING WITH YOU:
This letter and any photo ID card.

My question is: Is this a notice of interview of AOS, should I bring all
kinds of evidences documents with me?

Bring what they asked for : the letter and any photo ID...drivers license and passport come to mind.

No ..This is just for your Fingerprints..all part of the process and quite normal...

NO, It is a letter informing to go do your fingerprints. You will get
another letter from tthem for the interview.

If you got a letter from INS today, then you do need help as the mail
must really be slow. INS hasn't existed for a while.

It is a notice for a fingerprint appointment.

should I download it from the website of INS?

No need. It's the fingerprint card. The fingerprint people will have it.
It is an FBI form.

I went and had mine done last week after getting the same letter.. I don't know about there but here it is all electronic fingerprints and scanned now, so no messy blank ink any more or anything hehe.. was very painless and I was in and out in a matter of minutes.

Does it say that? Read it again and you will see that it is telling you that are scheduled to have your fingerprints taken. It doesn't say anything about having an appointment for an AOS interview.

The need for fingerprinting at this time is an indication that your petition which btw is getting quick attention from the USCIS that your AOS interview will be held hopefully within the next six months.

An appointment letter for AOS will be specific and will leave no doubt that that is what the appointment is for. It will be graphic and will contain a list (usually) of what you need to bring with you.
