need ADVISE, losted GreenCard already

my wife is visiting her country (thailand) for a little bit over 1 month already. and
she misplaced or even losted her green card and her thai passport.
what the heck am i'm i going to do??????????
i have no idea why she is sooooooo careless about something SO important like this.
can anybody tell me what to do???? can she still come back if i show the INS @
customs our marriage certificate??????
I AM LOST & DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT

Since she is in Thailand she should be able to get her passport replaced there.
Contact the appropriate department.
Then contact the US embassy. They should be able to give her a 'transportation
letter' in order for her to re-enter the US. She will likely need her passport for
this. The US Embassy in London's webpages say that an application to replace a green
card can only be sent from within the US so she probably won't be able to get a new
green card until she returns

As this page says she may need evidence that she has been outside the US less than 1
year. Check the Embassy in Bangkok webpages. I refer to the London Embassy webpages
only as an example, I have no idea whether the policies in are the same.
The US Embassy in Thailand's webpages don't make it easy to find this sort of info.
