Hi all

So after a long and stressful wait, we still haven't received an NoA1 but we received a letter with the contact numbers and addresses on of USCIS

It also says NBC. I've heard of our cases being forwarded to NVC but what's the NBC, and why are cases sent there for the i129F for a K1

What exactly does the letter say? It's unusual to get a letter, rather than a Notice of Action.

NBC is the National Benefits Center, where the EAD and AP are processed.

If the form number is anything like 797, then that is a notice of action.


Good news, actually! If your EAD and A/P documents are being prepared, then your application has been accepted for processing. It doesn't matter if you never receive notice that the package has been received.


The next time you come across an acronym that you don't understand, do a Google search similar to: NBC +USCIS.

Because USCIS is known to farm out the overload of apps to other centers for processing because they are back logged.

Since you are waiting on the I-129F, then it is not being sent there for an EAD or AP.

Rete is right, I was thinking of a different process.
