I need to write this to come full circle:

My sponsoree (we separated nearly three years ago) became a USC last year. I am therefore no longer required to file change of address forms and am thoroughly relieved. This was not the happy ending I'd envisioned starting out, due to the separation, but the race has finished.

Thanks Sally. Can you believe I'd do it all again if my Dutch boyfriend decides to move here? Six more years and I can move there!

Put the application in the post today. I have been here since I was nine and I just became a grandma, so I think I qualify in terms of time served.

My ex didn't apply until she was in her 50s and said she mainly did it because she no longer wanted to go through the hassle of renewing her green card every ten years.

Exactly. And I had a bad passport experience about this time last year. But mostly, I'm tired of taxation without representation! Although my husband points out that his vote will cancel mine out

You're also off the hook for the I-864 affidavit of support now, too!

Had my biometrics done on Wednesday..... It was super fast, in and out in 10 minutes.... The lady who took them even had a laugh and joke with me, when she was taking my picture she said I looked adorable in it, and that the little smile I had (not showing teeth of course!) looked like I was 'pleased to be approaching the finish line of dealing with the government'!!!

Friday at 3pm, got the text with a case update saying I was in line for interview and testing scheduling! What on earth are they putting in the coffee at uscis???!!!

They are finally trying to get on the right side of you so that you remember your last step and think back, "they really weren't that bad" since most people remember the last thing about something and everything else is a blur.

I know! I can't believe I'm even considering doing this again (and it's a huge maybe) but even though it has been and continues to be difficult, there's a benefit to a very long courtship.
