Yep I can appreciate it's frustrating. Seems like the standard advice now should become to hold off on the N400 until you get your ROC approval. Hopefully it'll come soon enough and you can get both decisions at once.

Yes I think that's probably the advice to give. All going well hopefully it will be done by end of summer at least - my extension letter covers me until October.

Re: My N-400 Progress

Great news from USCIS this morning, I received two separate emails to login and check my status and discovered that both my I-751 and N-400 have now been approved!

I-751 - New Card being produced.
N-400 - Application approved and invite being sent for Naturalization Ceremony.

So happy to have both of them approved now. I filed the N-400 online in Mid-Feb, so cannot complain about the timeline there, Norfolk field office were great, and in the end the pending I-751 only delayed it by a month. I did contact my local congressman to see if they could help, but unclear if that made a difference or this was just normal course of action.

I'll update again when I receive the invite. Thanks everyone for your help, I am very excited and happy today!

Re: My N-400 Progress

Congrats! :D

(Only one month after your N400 interview, not bad, but tough to tell if your I751 was bumped because of the N400 or if it just naturally rose to the top)

Thanks! Yes not sure if it was just its time, whether N-400 bumped it up, or congressman helped, or a combination of the three!

Congratulations on the approvals of both petitions. Shame you missed out on being part of the July 4th oath ceremony but yours will be special anyway because it is yours.

Re: My N-400 Progress

Received a letter from my congressman yesterday, who forwarded a letter from USCIS stating that both my I-751 and N-400 had already been approved, and the letter was conveniently dated the day they approved them! Still no idea if it made a difference or not, but didn't hurt to ask.

Who knows and who cares!

Congratulations Scotty on the approvals. Now the oath date and ceremony and you can kiss immigration thoughts goodbye.
