Default My experiences and aos approval question

Hi,

I am originally from the Netherlands. Got married
and filed in New York City.
Here's my time line and question:

-I was married on March 30th 2002
-Filed I-130 / I-485 on April 24 '02

Received notice of two appointments:
-Fingerprinting on 12/30/03 (201 Varick Street)
-Federal Plaza AOS interview is on 3/18/2004

-I had my work authorization renewed on October 10 '03

Received notice to disregard these appointments and
got 2 new dates:

-My fingerprints were taken on October 23rd '03 (201 Varick Street)
-I had the AOS interview with my wife on November 18 in Garden City

So far so good. The officer was happy with the interview but
said that he was still waiting for the FBI - fingerprints clearing.
So no stamp and I am waiting for the approval notice by mail.
Can anyone guess how long it will take for the approval notice
to arrive?

Much thanks for your help!

Six months to forever. If you remember the name of the examiner, my suggestion would be to write them personally after about 3 months to ascertain status of your petition. You can also call the FBI to find out if your prints had cleared and when they were sent back to the USCIS. Use that information in your letter.

If after a month from receipt of letter you still have not heard, write/phone/camp on the doorstep of your political rep and get them involved. It is all to easy for your petition to remain laying as a desk mat rather than being sent to archiving in Missouri after approval.

Hi:

This is an easy question to answer. It varies with each case -- but to determine the answer for YOUR case, please remember that two points define a line. You now have one point -- November 18, 2003. In time, you will recieve the second point -- the approval notice.

Combine those two dates and you will have your answer.

"The answer is easy if you take it logically." Paul Simon.
