Default My AOS interview (and EAD experience)

Hi All,

went for my AOS interview at Kansas City office yesterday, adjusting from a K3 when my I-130 hadn't been approved yet by NBC.

To cut a long story short, the "district adjudicating officer" was the one that interviewed us, basically, she said that doing it before the I-130 had been approved was trying to "circumvent" the law, and was as such illegal.

We now have to wait till the I-130 is approved - which shouldn't be as long, it was transferred to the KC office from the NBC.

Since it was 92 days on my EAD and no response from the MSC, whilst i was there (and no green card) i decided to get an interim EAD. After 3 hours of waiting, i walked out with a card..

Matt

you could have submitted a new I-130 with I-485 at KC office, without waiting for the old I-130 to be approved.

I did indeed do that as well (and they took my money..), and they still transferred the one from NBC, and said we had to wait till the original I-130 had been approved.
