Multiple entry I-94?
 

Is it possible to get an I-94 that is good for multiple
entries as long as the visa is appropriate?

Meaning, instead of having to pay $6 every time
one enters the US, is there any way to get one
that is good for a month, or 6 mos or whatever?

I never heard of paying $6 for an I-94. Is this something new? You have to
fill out a new I-94 when you enter and surrender it at the airport when you
leave. No two ways about it...

Why do you have to pay 6 bucks each time you cross the border if you
have a valid visa?

Never heard of anyone paying anything for an I94 when they enter the US. The airlines give them out for free, and then INS stamp them at the POE

Of the two times I have received the I-94 for my work visa, I only had to pay the $6 once. Its really up to the INS officier.

For Canadians, I94's for TN and L visas are multiple entry.

What visa are you getting? And what is your citizenship?

AFAIK, when you drive over from Canada or Mexico, and need a new I-94, you
have to pay these $6.
When you fly, it is included in the ticket price.
