MSC Phone System?
How accurate is the MSC automated phone system? Does it work? Will it actually give a
message that your petition is approved, or have people received their approval in the
mail but the phone message says something different?

Basically, the only information you can find out is if you petition has been approved. Otherwise, everyone gets the same recording that it is taking between 15-21 days to process this type of application.
However, you can call your congressman's office, and they can inquire more specific status for you. I heard back from my state's congressman yesterday, and he said that my husband's petition had cleared the security checks and is waiting to be assigned to an agent (receipt date 04/05/02).

I listened to the 15-21 day message for 62 days before it finally said Approved! Good
