Default Moscow (US Embassy) Question

If a finance visa is approved by the Embassy, is it possible to pick up the
passport/visa at the embassy, or must they mail it to you?

Write the consulate and ask that question. Rules change some from time to
time. So, unless you ask them, all info you get from another source could be
out of date or just plain wrong.

Here is the link: http://www.usembassy.ru/consular/wwwhcn5.html

My wife was able to pick up hers the same day as the interview, but that was
June 2002 before all the changes for Homeland Security.

Good Luck,
Dan Davis

This is the response I got:

=======================
In the event of your fiancee's interview is successful we will attempt to
issue the visa in several business days. However, we do not recommend you
to purchase any tickets until your fiancée will receive her visa. She
should arrange DHL delivery of her passport and visa from the embassy back
to her address in Russia or any other republic of former Soviet Union. DHL
telephone number in Moscow is (095) 956-1001.

Sincerely,

Customer Service Unit
Consular Section
U.S. Embassy, Moscow

"In the event of your fiancee's interview is successful"

Hmm.. will they say that the interview is "successful" at the interview
or is one supposed to sit and look at their mailbox ?

I think they tell you at the interview if it was successful. But I'm not
sure.

I had one more question I now want to ask. According to the website...

DHL receipt to confirm you paid for visa delivery. The fee can be paid at
one of the DHL offices.

Can someone tell me what exact this means? Do I go to DHL and buy an
envelope and give the envelope to the consulate agent (the interviewer)?
