Default Montreal IV-1 interview

Hi all

I'm about to send in the checklist and documents to the NVC for my
immigrant visa interview in Montreal, but I have two questions. If
anyone could shed some light, I'd be very grateful.

1) How successful am I likely to be at requesting an interview date? I
have a trip planned back to Canada for a good friend's wedding on Labour
Day weekend, and I'd really like to combine that with the trip to
Montreal. Fewer airline tickets to be purchased and all.

2) When I got my K-3, I got it back that same day. Do they do that in
Montreal for the I-551 stamp? If not, how will they get it to me?

Thanks again.

If there is a space for it, you can put that you will be in Canada during the week of XXX and wish to be able to interview at that time. If not, attach a sheet with that information. Remember that is Labor Day Weekend in the US and the US Consulate will be closed that Monday and short staffed the Friday before.

You won't get the I-551 there but at the POE. The brown envelope and visa should be obtained the same day. I've not heard that it is couriered to you. If it is you will have to give them hotel name you will be staying at so it can be delivered.
