Montreal Interview, DONE!!!
Well we finally got the interview over with at Montreal. What a very
EXPENSIVE city!!! THought we would make a vacation out of it, in turn
sucked all our money from us!! Anyways, had our appointment for 1000 and
arrived at 0900, went to the front of the line as per the security guard.
The two guys in front of us had 2 back packs each so security took over
twenty mins on them, (hello guys heard of Sept 11 yet) My advice DO NOT
TAKE ANYTHING additional to the interview, ie. backpacks with cell phones
etc etc. Got thru security went up the elevator to 19th Floor, got off, two
quick lefts to window number 25 to get a number and wait to be called. We
only sat for 5 mins and were called to the window #5. The lady at the
window was very nice asked for our paperwork originals, got to the front
face pictures and she said "Im sorry these pictures may be too dark" Our
hearts sank to our stomachs!!!! She walked away to check on something then
came back to say the pics were OK, ya hoo!!! Then she got to the police
certificate and started reading, " She then said Im sorry this check is only
good for your province(Newfoundland and Labrador) and not all of Canada"
Again there goes our hearts!!!! Luckily the local RCMP can do a police
check in 30 mins at the local station for 25 bucks, I think we are still in
luck. She finished the paperwork and told us to have a seat for the
interview. Took about 45 mins and we were called to room 13, how unlucky
huh?? The lady behind the glass was young, I think her name was Heidi, and
started with the oath for both of us!!!!! She asked when we met, when we
got engaged, did my fiance have any trouble crossing the borders at any
time, asked me what branch of the service I was in. That was about it. She
said go and get the police certificate immediately and return with it, we
did. WE ended up getting our visa at 1500 with all the rest. Any questions
