Default Montreal Interview

I just called Montreal and was told that I have an interview scheduled for Dec 11 and although I had requested for an interview date after Dec 19, they weren't able to comply with my request. I had mentioned that I have a final exam on Dec 12 and that my fiance wouldn't be here until Dec 19.
When I called them back to ask if it's possible to be rescheduled, I was told that the waiting line would be 3-6 months and that although I have a final exam on the 12th, if approved, the visa would be issued the same day so I shouldn't have a problem with that. Eeeeeerrrrrrrr....incase they haven't noticed, I live in Toronto which is around 6 hours away from Montreal.

Timeline:
Sept. 10 2002: I-129F mailed
Sept. 11 2002: INS received the application
Sept. 12 2002: 1st NOA

Nov. 6 2002: Montreal contacted Lilian for proof of status in Canada
Nov. 6 2002: Lilian mailed out the photocopies of passport and immigration papers
Nov. 7 2002: Montreal received the documents
Nov. 12 2002: Lilian called Montreal and was told that the interview is on Dec 13. *Whatever happened to the checklist?* Called Montreal again and was told that I was given someone else's information. What the hell???
Nov. 13 2002: Lilian received Packet 3
Nov. 14 2002: Lilian received another Packet 3
Nov. 19 2002: Lilian mailed out DS 230I and OF-169

Wow! I'm amazed at your timeline.... it's very impressive. Each step seems
to be only taking a month....

Where did you mail your 129F's to?

Yeah, it didn't take long for the whole process for me. It would have been a lot faster if Montreal Consulate didn't need me to furnish proof of status in Canada.
We went through the California Service Center.

I have my timeline above that explains everything. It didn't take too long though. The packet 4(with the interview date) came a week after I mailed in my packet 3.

Your timeline is very similar to mine, yeah!! It's a matter of time before you'll get your interview date, which I am sure will be very soon. =)
Good luck with everything.

You should check with your university about writing your exam on another day. If you show them the appointment letter they might make an exception. You are allowed to miss exam with a medical note....maybe an official document like this will work too.

Thanks...I am thinking of doing that now that you've mentioned it. But I doubt they'll actually exempt me though. It's worth a try so I'll go and talk to my college registrar's office to see if the University would actually consider my case.
Thanks!
