This NG is wonderful and I have gathered and learned so much from all of
you. We still haven't filed our I129f yet as we are waiting on some things
but I do have a question regarding marriage certificates from previous
marriages.
1. Although it is not called for should we send copies with the I-129f?
2. Going through the Montreal Consulate do you need them and has anyone who
has gone through there been asked for them?
The reason I ask is because in the CanAm group on Yahoo there are copies of
the checklists from Montreal and Vancouver. (in the files section for those
interested). However only the Vancouver one specifically asks for previous
marriage certificates.
Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this for me.

I included a copy of my previous marriage certificate with my I-129F...
simply because it asked for proof of legal name change. Since I didn't
revert to my maiden name after my divorce, my last name now is different
than what's on my birth certificate.
I'm sorry, I don't know about Montreal (we're going through Vancouver).
However, I would suggest taking too much with you rather than not enough.
It may not be asked for, but you never know!!![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I worried about that too. I included my previous marriage certificate with
our I129F to Vermont, because I had kept my married name after my divorce
and I thought they would need to see the reason for the change in name. But
we did not include my fiance's previous marriage certificate in the I129F
nor did they ask for mine or his in Montreal.

K1 Visa approved in Montreal on June 11/03
