Milwaukee EAD error, help please
Hello....
We travelled 1 1/2 hours today to Milwaukee to collect my first EAD, which we did apparently without a problem.
Travelled home to our local social security office to apply for a s/s number. Filled in the form there but the officer said that there was a problem with my EAD... my Alien Registration number was missing some digits !!! Basically the number is running off of the card to the left side.
So after a long wait and conversation with the INS national help line I was told that the card must be re-done. Oh joy.... another missed day of work (unpaid of course) for my wife.
The help line cannot give me any way of getting in touch with Milwaukee on Knapp St. so this is going to have to be a walk-in. We know that the office is only open on monday, tues, wed (am) and thursday.... but can anyone tell me please if EAD's are issued on all of these days or only tuesday (as today)?
Obviously we do not want to travel again on the wrong day if there is one... and it is not possible to find out directly as far as we can tell. We will go back thursday if they do EAD's that day. I guess we can only hope that they can put this right in the one visit.
Thankyou
GraJan
PS... check your EAD before leaving.... they don't!!!

Re: Milwaukee EAD error, help please
I have never read anything that says that Milwaukee only does certain
business on certain days. However, that doesn't mean much.
We will be going down there tomorrow to file our AOS and EAD (it's only 15
minutes from our house). If you want me to check for you, let me know at
[email protected] and I'll be happy to ask and email you back.
I don't check this site everyday. So email me directly if you want me to
double check.
