Default Medical Exam for AOS

How important is it that I take my medical exam paperwork to my AOS
interview? I have searched high and low for that paper and can't find it
anywhere. Is it really something the interviewer will be interested in
(especially since INS obviously has the original already)?

Thanks,
Kim

If you came on a k-1 visa, you do not have it because the INS has it. (it
was in the envelope you gave to them at the POE).

If you filed for AOS within a year of the date of the K-1 medical exam it
will not need to be repeated.

Rete and Alvena I am not trying to be rude, just recently a medical
for AOS filing from a K1 visa IS required in a lot of places now I am
currently in middle of the process and when we filed in person at
Louisville it was the very first thing they ask for, apparently the
reason being is that interviews are being conducted in under 12
months!! I strongly reccommend that when going for your original
medical you ask for copies of all your paperwork or make copies
yourself as when you go for your appointment at the approved INS
doctor here in the US all he/she will have to do is fill the paperwork
out based on your copies. This is what I did and it saved me LOTS of
money, cost $75.00 as opposed to $275 if I hadn't had all the
paperwork.
Originally when I questioned this with INS they said if the medical
form was included in your package you have to have a medical
completed.
Hope this has helped everyone, I did post it also as a response to
another post on the same question!!

The INS rule is clear.....

No medical is needed for a K-1 adjustment if filing for adjustment within
one year of K-1 pyhsical....there is NO stipulation for how long the
adjustmnent process takes...That is the INS's problem....not yours.

What may be happening in places is the use of generic appointment letters
specifying to bring the medical with you.....letters sent to everyone
adjusting, regardless of their circumstance.

The ONLY thing you need in this regard is the vaccination supplement if it
is specifically asked for.....and count on it, if you were not up to date
prior to coming to the US.

That is the rule as it reads BUT the rule is outdated and HAS
NOT been updated!! I am currently going through the process and am in
contact with a few who have filed AOS from K1 around the same time as
me. They are from different countries using different centres for
filing and so far all have now been asked for the medical @ time of
filing, one guy went without and he was told they wont proceed with
his till he hands a completed medical in. Yes some have been ask for
the vaccination supplement some like me have been ask for the
completed full medical and no they wont refer to the medical sent with
the K1 visa!! However if the INS doctor fills out 693 form based on
your copies from the first medical they will accept that!!
