THAT was the Medical Exam????
I'm curious, back when my UK husband was "adjusting" after us marrying
here in the states..his medical (was 440.US dollars) and consisted of
us walking into the doctors office with the pertinent paperwork...he
was shuttled into a room where the doctor sat and asked a bunch of
questions, looked in his ears nose and throat, listened to his heart &
chest, asked about his UK vacinations (which he only remembered
one*)...gave him a Tb test and one vaccine and we were on our way. the
whole thing was 15 minutes total.*
?????? anyhow i was curious what other medical experiences were?

I didn't have proof of immunisations, so had titres done for tetanus, MMR, Varicella, blood test for HIV and RPR (edit) and skin test for TB at my local doc, that was covered under insurance. $15 dollar co-pay.

$440 US dollars? This was for a medical in the USA? You got screwed. Mine was $125, for the civil surgeon test. Basically checked that I had 10 toes, ten fingers, and I was on my way. Where did your husband have his test done, so others may avoid the rip-off merchant.

My wife got a very thorough exam, lasting over an hour, for $133.

So can someone let me know whether I have to have the medical exam and
lodge the forms with results together with I485 or at the time of the
interview?
I am filing in Los Angeles District Office.
Thanks

Easiest thing to do is ring the national callcenter and ask what the LA office requires.

where we were located the INS gave us a list of doctors to choose from
(only 6)..all charged the same.*
the state of Maine...we had no insurance, it was out of pocket.

You only needed to take a quick look at the USCIS website to answer your question? It took me about 2 seconds to find this under the LA District Office:
"I-485 _ Adjust to Permanent Resident Status (family-based)
I-765 - Employment Authorization Document (may be filed concurrently with family-based I-485)
PO Box 532499
Los Angeles District Office
300 N. Los Angeles Street
Los Angeles, CA 90053"
lodge the forms with results together with I485 or at the time of the
interview?
