Hello immigration gurus,
I am a green card holder. If I were to marry someone on a B-1 visa in the US, will
she be able to adjust her status without going back to the home country? What is the
best way for this to work out?
Thanks.

No. Since you are only a Permanent Resident, if you marry someone on a B-1 she would
have to return to her home country, and you would file a I-130. Spouses of PR have a
2A preference - so it would be about 5 years before she would be able to adjust
status and return to the US. Also, she would no longer be eligible to get a B-1/B-2
visa, with a husband in the US (unless she already has one for multiple entries). If
she were able to get an employement visa on her own she would be able to remain in
the US until the I-130 petition becomes current. Take Care. Shelley
