Married F-1 Student couple wants to get Permanent Residency--Legal Advice Needed
My wife and I are F-I students. We got married in October 2005 at the
end of our two-year college stint, and we are currently completing our
Bachelor's of Science Degrees in a four-year university.
1. What is the best option(s) for us to change our statuses from F-I
students to permanent resident status?
2. How do go about doing that best option(s)

Find a job which requires your degree when you qualify for OPT.
Commence work under OPT and ask the employer to sponsor you for
permanent residency through labor certification. Since it takes years
you will need to change your status to H-1B when new H-1B numbers
become available in April 2007.
This is not legal advice. I am not your attorney. Send any follow up
inquires to [email protected]. I do not check the newsgroup for follow
ups.
