Thank you all for your feedback, it has given me a bit more hope. Looks like I should have done a lot more digging beforehand. The biggest downside will be having to visit London again, I can't stand the place.

That is a relief, thank you. I thought it would involve a return.

In reading this thread, I am reminded that it is not unheard of for lay people to not truly understand their criminal record. When it comes to CIMT's, words matter. First of all, is the offense [or "offence" in the UK] fit within the definition of CIMT. Second, was there a "conviction?" Third, on the immigrant visa end of things, there is a "petty offense" exception -- which allows for a single CIMT under the proper circumstances.
From what OP has posted, there exists the possibility that he may not be inadmissible.
First side comment: I had one client who was applying for AOS off his AmCit daughter. His business was such that he had multiple arrests for buying and selling stolen property. The computer print outs were quite long. However, each and every one was either dismissed or was reduced to a non-CIMT. Incredibly, he was not inadmissible. BTW, that man really appreciated the value of lawyers.
Second side comment: I don't think that OP made a "willful" misrepresentation on the past ESTA's due to his convictions being "spent." But the importance of the definitions is demonstrated thereby
