He didn't have a personal invitation, no, but there have been plenty of business sectors who have said that they could not operate without illegal labour. They never bring pay into it, they always say that "Americans won't do this work."
American businesses send out an "everyone's welcome"* invite by employing illegals.
*offer subject to fines and deportation; must provide own transportation

Again, after what we all on here have been through to get here legally, I have NO sympathy what so ever.
One is legal or one is .... illegal.
He is here illegal, and ALL he does is illegal.
There is no gray area.

IF he could have gotten here legally by going through what we've gone through (to get our spouses here, or as a spouse) then I'm sure he would've. Isn't that what he wants now?

But, ok.... my advice is to go back to El Salvador and go through official channels.
Again, I have no sympathy... what so ever.

So you don't blame the government, his employer or the shareholders of his employer? Just him. How convenient for you.

Yes, there was and is. He can return home. He was not invited here. He was not seeking asylum. He came illegally, to live and work illegally. Yes, one does what one has to do to survive. But can't see it in his or anyother undocumented alien's case.
While I am emphatize, I have no sympathy.

There is black or white, no grey area (as far as I am concerned) when it comes to illegals.

You've made your feelings known, R. I'm sure OP Mike has taken it on board.
He did request resources, not judgements. Fact is, there is a process in place for the young man to get himself sorted out. I'm sorry you don't like it, but this isn't the place for an argument on the morality of it from either side (fb).
thanks for sharing.

No, the OP is about a grandfather to be, enquiring about what's required to get his kid's family sorted out.

I'll shutup as always.
And to Rete I apologize.

No apology required. We are all entitled to our opinions. They are not judgments, per se, but the way we feel about things. Doesn't mean we can't help steer the grandfather-to-be in the right direction for his daughter's and grandchild's sake. We can still feel that illegals have violated our law and are continuing to do so day by day. And he will still be a grandfather with or without his daughter getting married or with or without his grandchild's father being legal or illegal or here or there.

Yes. Jumping the fence in no way makes a person evil, any more than
not reporting that penny you found on the side to IRS when you file
your taxes does.

Just because you had it hard, doesn't mean that it should be hard for
everyone -- would you say "I lost both of my parents as an infant, so I
can not feel sorry for you loosing just 1 as an adult"?
Also, you statement includes the unstated implication that he would
have been able to GET a green card if he'd just did what you did -- he
wouldn't have (unless he qualifies for asylum).
