Marriage and GC should I wait?

Hi All, my situation is:
I have a girlfriend she was a student but prolonged her visa for over a year staying with me I'm GC holder over 3 years (well 3 and several months). We have been living together over 2 years, already engaged. Can I marry her right know and after applying / receiving a citizenship get her legal papers, or should I wait for my citizenship.

I would like to marry her right know but what effect it will be on our papers later?

if she overstayed her visa, marrying you will not help her until you get citizenship. On the other hand, when you apply for citizenship, you will have to state what status your spouse is in. Illegal???? Oh, no....

Other than that, get married and be happy!!!!!!!!!!!

if she overstayed, she'd better not leave the U.S. until she gets her GC, even with Advance Parole. Otherwise she will be barred from the U.S. for 3 to 10 years.

Marriage and its disclosure on your N-400 will not affect your getting
citizenship, because your eligibility for citizenship does not depend on
your marriage. However, the N-400 does ask for you to state your spouse's
immigration status (check box: "Lawful Permanent Resident"
"Other_____________"). There is probably some fairly safe way to fill this
out, and if I were you I would consult with a good immigration attorney
about it.

When you become a citizenship, you can immediately file Form I-130 for your
wife, and she can file Form I-485, simultaneously at the USCIS district
office for your residence. The waiting time between filing and interview
(when if all is O.K. she will become a permanent resident) varies from
office to office, but it could be 1 to 2 years.

There is an advantage in your having been married for at least two years at
the time PR status is granted, and that is that your wife will get PR status
without conditions, and she does not have to apply to remove the conditions.
