Marriage certificate needed for H-4
What kind of marriage certificate is needed for an H-4 visa?
As I understand if we marry in the US it will take 3 months to get a real certificate
with a seal and some more time to get this approved in your home country.
Can we file and H-4 application with the first certificate we get?

How long it takes to get the certificate very much depends on the city you are in. I
hear that sometimes, if you arrange to take the paperwork to the registration office
yourself, it can be much faster.
That said, you can certainly try to get an H-4 with the short-form marriage
certificate. I would not be surprised if that succeeded. The requirements for a
non-immigrant visa are far less stringent than for immigration.
