When does one use I-693 (medical examination) then? at time of GC
application or Citizenship application?

I believe you can submit them all at the same time.. but some USCIS offices vary their rules .. look up the local USCIS for your area for more info

Thanks for the response. Is it a good idea to get this process through a
lawyer or doing to myself is also easy.

I think it is at the time of GC. According to USCIS website "If filing for
adjustment of status at a local office, you should submit the completed Form
I-693, sealed in an envelope from the physician, at the time of your
adjustment of status interview"

Can anyone else confirm this.

Thanks for the response.

Can you please let me know where to find about how much time is required for
approval of I-130, I-485, and work authorization.

Thanks

I agree. Just shop around and one can get good rate.

I have a lawyer asking me for $900 and another for $1500. The rate
exclues application fees and other fees. I think that for a lawyer it
is simple stuff and I do not need to spend $1500. But recently, I
started thinking to ask Immigration Help Center at a local Law School.
The one here had helped soemone with politcal asylum case. A friend
(newly obtained) told me about it. That's how I found out about such
place. Do you think they would help with this kind of case, charging
just a little bit or free. I am so broke.

I'm a great believer in "you get what you pay for" If my whole future depending on something .. money really should not come into it..

There is no way to judge the timeline realistically. Every district office has a different timeline and with the new procedure of all forms being filed at the local district office and then sent to the NBC for initial processing before being returned to the district office it is even harder to determine a timeline. The USCIS website has a timeline area which will give you a general idea of what length of time you are looking at.

If you are not going to be changing jobs, then you don't need to file for an EAD or for advance parole. If, however, you are planning on leaving the company that has sponsored your H-1B you do need to apply for the right to work (EAD/form I-765) and if you want to travel you will need advance parole (AP/form I-131). Timeline on the EAD is 90 days after receipt of from the USCIS of getting your petition and about the same time for an AP.

Your spouse will have to be your financial sponsor and must earn 125% of the poverty guidelines for a family your size (includes you). If you have lived with her for six months, your income can be used as well.

Here's the USCIS site: https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

Click for "Processing dates," and then select your District Office. "I-485"
gives the relevant processing time. It's the same whether it's filed with
an I-130 or not (the I-130 is generally approved at the same time as the
I-485 -- at the interview -- if applicable). "I-765" gives the relevant
processing time for the Employment Authorization Document (EAD).
