Default Louisville AOS

we filed for adjustment of status today at louisville, we gathered all the information together including all the things we were not supposed to have until the interview (letters from friends stating it is a true marriage , pictures of us together, letters addressed to both of us etc) we filled out all the forms and paid all the fees, the very helpfull officer dealing with our case looked at all the paperwork and gave us a time and date to go for a work permit and fingerprinting and told us because i came in on a K1 visa and we had gathered together so much information that we did not need an interview and subject to an FBI check our AOS was granted and we should have it in 6 to 8 months, has this happened to anyone else before? nothing we have read on this site or any other says that this can happen, is this a case of the BCIS finaly getting there act together or are we likely to get a letter in the post giving us an interview date.

Kentucky... home sweet home.. hehe. Glad to hear about Louisville.. I have
read similar note somewhere else about Louisville, and sounds like you got same
man. Hopefully this is all true in the long run. We are a ways off from AOS
filing, but good to know that there is some hope further down the road.

Yes it very much is a BCIS nightmare I am sure I had posted my
experience on the experience site!!! BUT and I say big BUT I have not
long (Feb sometime) gone through AOS at Loiusville, filed Mid to late
June sped through fingerprinting (same day) EAD had to go back
exactely one week later ( we live 4 hours away, having got EAD could
then apply for a drivers permit ( a Kentucky requirement). Also at
that time filed for AP, I have aging parents and grown children in my
home country so felt I needed it. The AP turned out to be a nightmare
for me when I eventually got it I had the required number of pages but
on the last photo page they had my picture but someone else's name (a
male at that, so had to send the whole lot back and it took over
another month, by the time I got it I didn't need it as it wasn't that
long that I got my Conditional Green card.
What happened to me was I received a very ambiguos letter ( the letter
in its entirity I posted in a message here so maybe you could do a
search and find it I think under a heading something like " very
unusal AOS letter" or " very unusual letter from INS" saying to come
to Louisville with my passport, 3 photo's ( the 1 ear showing type)
and something else I cant quite think of right now. It didn't even say
my husband had to be present and NO I didn't need all that evidence
that we had so diligently collected, but I took it anyway. I got there
early as usual eventually got our ticket and waited, all they did was
take my fingerprint, fill out a form put the travel stamp in my
passport and said I was approved!! Said it could be up to 6 months
till I got my card but not 1 week later I got 4 welcome to the US
letters and about 2 weeks later got my Conditional Green card. So
basically what the lady told you would happen did actually happen to
me, so maybe the same will happen to you. At the time non one on this
newsgroup had heard of it but sounds like Louisville mightbe
processing all that way.
BTW what is your country of origin, Australia here and what part of KY
are you??
