So being a very careful person I never travel with my passport except last week when I went to DMV and asked about an Ohio drivers licence.
I've spent days and checked everywhere house/car/DMV and it's gone! I reported passport lost online (passport office) and ordered a new one.

So I guess I need to wait the 6+ weeks for my new passport, Can this be fast tracked in any way as I'm kinda in limbo?
The next step I guess is try get an I-90 appointment. Would this be in person at a local office or by mail? Anybody any idea how long this would take (ballpark)?
I've only been in USA 3 weeks so physical Green Card is likely a long way away.

I can't work, can't get health insurance, can't get drivers licence argh! In the past I always had 2 UK passports (work related) but last renewal said no need.

Edit: I should add that we will suffer some finacial hardship if I don't find work soon. My wife has disabilities so can't work. We have cash to last till Dec if careful.

Unfortunately the I-90 for a replacement green card can only be filed online. And most likely you would get your plastic green card in the mail before getting the replacement, so I wouldn't even bother.

You can't get a new I-551 stamp, either, because you don't have your passport.

Maybe the first step is to get a new UK passport, then try to get another I-551 stamp in it, if USCIS will do so by looking up for record and seeing your status.

So when I get the passport would I ask for an infopass appointment and try get an I-551 stamp?
Are Green Cards being delayed due to Trump or Covid?
Do I need to report the loss of I-551 to USCIS?

Just two or three days ago someone here on BE reported getting their green card after only around 8 weeks. .... Here you go, he received his green card on the 59th day after entering the US.

Got my new passport 2 weeks ago and today my physical Green Card arrived in the post.

Entered USA CR-1 2nd July 2020 - Green Card arrived 16th Sept 2020 so about 10 weeks.

Edit: I'm in Ohio
