Hurrah London Visa Branch.
I sent my H1 application which arrived on 28th August and I received my Visa on 10th September.
It was actually processed on the 9th, said the lovely Scotts lass on the phone
FYI - the 1.50 per minute charge for speaking to a live person at the Visa branch does not get specific information about a case. You are only told which batch of visas are being processed on which date.
Also - Do use Royal Mail Certified postage for both sending and return - you can track on any day whether your docs have been mailed back.
