London interview, what funds are required?

Hi, I have just received my packet of forms from the London Embassy, within
it their is all the information about not becoming a public charge, DS-2000
form. Now it states that at the time of the interview I need to satisfy the
consular officer that I will not become a public charge and again when I
enter the US. Now I am not exactly rich, in fact I'm quite broke and so is
Leslie my fiance. Does anyone know roughly how much the officer is looking
for me to have available? Are we talking in the thousands here in savings or
a couple hundred?

The target figure is the ability to meet 125% of the US Poverty Guideline based on the size of the household, ie if it's just going to be you and your fiancee, then the size of the household is 2, etc. That's where you start to determine the figure.

What it means is that you have to produce an affidavit of support. Why they
don't say it explicitly I don't know! Either I-134 if you are traveling on
a non-immigrant visa (K1 / K3) or I-864 if you are applying for an immigrant
visa.

Your sponsor will be your fiancee.

Hope this helps.
