One quick question I have; if I fly into Orlando as my POE I take it that it's okay to then fly on to Atlanta a few hours later? I'm sure it is but as I said earlier, I do like to double-check everything!

Is that the airline policy? Or just not present in the booking form?

I usually find that you don't declare baggage until check in (whether online or in person).

According to the site, it's airline policy (Thomas Cook via Sky Scanner). I'm Virgin want £1300+ for Manchester-Atlanta... The flight I'm looking at is less than £400.

I could book a return flight with Virgin for less than £500 then obviously not show for the journey home but something tells me that is a bad idea under the circumstances!

Flights are regularly much more expensive for a one-way rather than return. The only time I've found one-way to be cheaper is when using miles.

There isn't a problem with booking return, flying and then calling the airline to cancel the return leg.

Yes, I wish I'd done that now to be honest. I've booked the flight via Orlando and getting messed about with the bags after being told I could sort it out once the booking was confirmed! I'm sure it'll sort itself out, no sense worrying about it now
