Hard to say. Depends on the INS office you are using for filing your adjustment of status and advance parole.

I'm taking that you're not married yet...and you are the non USC. (LOL, "fortnight!")
Apply for your AOS immediately after you marry, and include with it your application
for advanced parole AND employment authorisation. I believe it is form I-131 and you
have to pay a fee of $95 or so. You can request that the INS expedite the processing
of the AP, and there are other ways to get the AP in an "emergency," I think.
Good luck!

The new fee for Advance Parole is $110 - prices went up in February. Take
Care. Shelley

It all depends on the INS office. Check out the site http://www.immigration.com/ Look
on the right side of the page at the Processing times.

After marriage to the non-USC, file for AOS immediately and make sure you submit (&
get approved) the I-131, or Advance Parole, before leaving the country while your AOS
is pending. You can ask for single or multiple entries, and need to state the reasons
(i.e. honeymoon, church wedding abroad, business trips, vacation etc.).
It depends on the INS office how long this permission takes to be processed. At
Boston INS, it was given to me 30 minutes after the submission of the AOS paperwork
package. At other offices, you'll have to wait longer, and they will send you the
approved AP in the mail. Some INS offices require you to show that you are planning
to leave the country within the next 30 days (as stated in the AP letter).
Hope this helps, Des
